ToToon City

A day before the interview with Toon City I was already excited trying to visualize what I was going to see, will there be a cool studio, cool people, or a really huge building. Uncertain of what will I see. The morning after I woke up 4AM in the morning excited I get ready for the interview, around 6:45AM I got to school our meeting place to my surprise I was the first one there. Around 8:45 AM we got on the bus due the fact that around that time of day many people are commuting to work so we end up riding a fully loaded bus. During the whole course of the trip we were standing, so the end of the trip we were already tried and hungry. We got drop at Robinson Forum at Mandaluyong city, and then took a Cab but end up in Pasig, frustrated we asked some king people for the location of Toon City good thing a kind tricyle drive took us to Toon City. When we got to the building my heart started beating fast. Full of excitement we went Inside.

Inside the animation studio of Toon City I was astonished because of the posters and awards that was hanged in the walls of the hallway and a marble statue so Mickey the mouse at the sides of the wall as if he was guarding the hall ways itself. We waited for Sir. Rene DE Guzman to escort us  to the interview room while waiting I have observe the people that worked at Toon City they have this overwhelming aura by just staring at them you can already say that they have been working there for a long time as I was looking around the hall ways Sir. Rene finally came and told us to follow him. We through this electronic door that can only be accessed by certain staff in the studio, at the interview room Sir.Rene started to ask about us where did we came from? What school did we came from, who’s our dean, what’s he’s/her’s specialty, all of those stuff by the time my groupmates have answered all of Sir. Renes question we finished setting up the cameras and finally we are ready for the interview.

During the interview I have found out that Toon City originated in the west. Toon City formerly known as Hanabarbera was transferred here due to the union strike in America. I also found out that it is not enough that you can draw you must be able to draw nonstop. You also should have a specialty because Sir. Rene said that being an MMA practitioner means that you know how to do all the stuff that a MMA practitioner does but do not mastered everything.  In sort Jack of all trades, master of none. He also said that if we want to be in the animation industry we should be familiar whit the software and programs that a certain company uses, Either you master all the animation software or take a company work shop so that you can be production ready.  You also  need to have a system in terms of how you gonna run a company. All the things that Sir. Rene said in the interview opened my eyes and inspired me to work harder so that I will be more prepared for the future this is all I can say and hopefully I could have another chance to go inside Toon City not as a MMA practitioner but as an Animator in the near future.

PAST it to our Generation

What does Multimedia Industry looked like in the past? Is it popular at that time? In this blog I will try to form a theory or explain according to my understanding what Multimedia Industry has done for the past few years until now.

If you look at it in the past everything was so simple, Until that simple became extra ordinary when multimedia mediums where introduce first there was this Television, you can now see what's happening in the other parts of the country in your own living room then telecommunication came, we can now speak with each other in different places then internet was introduced and everything got a lot easier and with that technology played a big role in making the multimedia industry as the people lives by everything is fast and instant and less work like going on a campaign, introducing your product everything is done through the internet and is this continous multimedia industries get more creative and more creative in projecting their objectives people uses videos, photos and other form of multimedia and we all know that almost of the population in the Philippines are what they call "Netizens" a population in the internet as they call it, with this on the hand they can advertise quickly and internationally people will see the product, consumes the product and the industry is happy and the consumer is happy its a win-win situation. And this practice continued for several years until NOW. But not only in the internet also in the real world they use their creativity in advertising their product the realworld + the internet = fast earning economy.

Until now the multimedia industry is still doing this practice, it will grow and grow because multimedia is what people needs now a days.

My Multimedia business

If I will own a multimedia business I most probably build it here in the Philippines. Mainly because it is easier in a way that you already have a background on what specific audience you will be interacting with. And besides it’s pretty hard to build a business outside your home country right. It’s better to start here and then progress there. If will have a multimedia business it will probably be Designs and Printing Tee-shirts, in short a Clothing line, just like
 NICKAUTOMATIC

GLAMOURKILLS
 MERMOLLIE INK
two of this clothing lines started here in the Philippines, but now they ship internationally. Just like them I want my business to start here in the Philippines.

To survive in this kind of business you’ll need to have a Catchy and Creative name Lucky for me, me and my friends started a clothing line not so long ago. We named it PIEye(PIE). I thought of the name PIEye because everybody loves eating Pie <3 I added an additional YE so that it will sound more creative
Here is our logo as you can see it’s a pie with an eye (it rhymes!)
And we have released a couple Tee’s

but just like every other newly started business things are kind of slow.

Printing and selling tee-shirts are hard especially if you don’t know where to sell your products or services. For this kind of business to prosper you really need to know how to advertise you product a simple way to advertise is through social media. Like we did I post our product in many different groups. Luckily we made some sales and another way is sponsoring popular people, bands they will ware you product in exchange of you providing them something to ware. And regarding the printing service you can go to schools, universities ask them if they want to have their own college/ org. shirt, and then suggest that you do design and print they will be more than happy to ask for your service.  By doing this it is most likely this type of multimedia business will prosper you just need to work hard.
